How to get to Krakow, Poland from Memphis, TN

Someone sent me a link earlier today on how to get to London from Chicago. The results were kinda funny. So, I entered my own criteria “How to get to Krakow, Poland from Memphis, TN”.

Here is a direct link to my Google Map.

Be sure to read step 20 in the driving directions.

Unfortunatly I was unable to find driving direction to anywhere in South America.

Google going Solar

It seems Google is going solar powered. They are installing 9,200 solar panels on a high-tech mecca nicknamed the “Googleplex.” They are stating that this will save them over 30% on energy alone and completely paid for in 10 years. Google is hoping that their move will spark other major corporations to follow them. Of course that will probably not happen in my lifetime.

It would be nice if solar companies would make solar power more affordable. My guess is that more people would go solar if it did not cost them an arm and a leg.

Google Spreadsheet

Well, it seems Google is trying to take over any form of software and offer it for free in their own format. They did this with Google Analytics and are now doing it with Google Spreadsheets. The cool part is that you can have your documents with you and share with anyone whenever you want to share them at anytime.

I have tested this and it seems to work pretty well. I think it just needs a little bit more for those needing more detailed spreadsheets. Now all I need is a Google Photoshop.

More Google Maps

I posted about Google Earth a while ago. Well, now you can go beyond the Earth and get satellite images from other planets. You can now get satellite images of Google Moon and Google Mars. Both of these are onyl snapshots of a particular area. It does not work like Google Earth. Be sure to zoom in to the Google Moon, as you will find something interesting.

It is pretty cool, but what purpose does it have for a regular person. I guess you could start plotting where you want to purchase your moon plot.

Google Analytics

Sean Hudson posted on this a few days ago and I figured I would give it a shot. I am talking about Google Analytics Site Tracker. It is very cool. This was once a pay service, but Google bought them and now it is free. It is so much better than other site trackers and has many, many more options.

Below is just an example of what you can do with it. To set up your own free account go to Google Analytics. It shows you where your visitors are coming from geographically. You can even narrow it down by city or service provider.

Google Earth

Check out the latest program from Google called Google Earth. The program can be downloaded for free. Here are some satellite images of my house. You can view almost anything and anywhere with this program. Only bad thing is that the images are over a year old. It would be nice if the images were update more regularly to correct all those hazy images for some locations.
